This study examines the direct effect of green human resource management practices (GHRM) on green work engagement (GWE) and clarifies the mediating role of green knowledge sharing (GKS) among micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the food manufacturing and processing sector in Ho Chi Minh City. A dataset comprising 302 observations and 19 measurement items rated on a five-point Likert scale was analysed using PLS-SEM. The results show that GHRM positively affects GKS and that GKS positively affects GWE. The indirect effect of GHRM on GWE through GKS was β = 0.183, with a 95% confidence interval of [0.117, 0.257], indicating complementary mediation. Firms should implement GHRM in an integrated manner alongside knowledge-sharing mechanisms with clear routines, responsibilities, and monitoring indicators.
