Aims and Scope

JMRR — Journal of Management Research and Review

The Journal of Management Research and Review (JMRR) publishes peer-reviewed research across the management disciplines. We are interested in work that engages substantively with how organizations are run — how decisions get made, how strategies emerge and succeed or fail, how people and teams perform, how customers are served, how operations are organized, and how new ventures come into being.

We publish original empirical research, theoretical and conceptual contributions, systematic reviews, longitudinal and case-study research, and applied management analyses. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs are all welcomed, as is work that combines field research with analytical or computational methods.

The journal's scope covers:

  • Strategic management, including competitive strategy, corporate strategy, industry analysis, and the resource-based view
  • Organizational behavior, including motivation, decision-making, group dynamics, organizational culture, and the psychology of work
  • Human resource management, including recruitment and selection, performance management, compensation, training and development, and HR strategy
  • Leadership, including transformational, transactional, distributed, and ethical leadership; followership; and leadership development
  • Marketing, including consumer behavior, brand management, marketing strategy, services marketing, and digital and platform marketing
  • Operations management, including supply chain management, lean operations, quality management, and service operations
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation, including new venture creation, family business, social entrepreneurship, and technology entrepreneurship
  • Organizational change and learning, including change management, organizational learning, and adaptive organizations
  • Cross-cultural management, including international management, global teams, and cultural variation in management practice
  • Sustainability and ethics in management, including corporate social responsibility, business ethics, and environmental management

We particularly welcome research that engages with real organizational contexts — interview studies, longitudinal field research, case studies of practice — alongside conventional survey-based and experimental work.

What we do not publish: pure consulting frameworks without research basis, opinion pieces without an empirical contribution, articles that restate well-known management literature without extension, or work that is more naturally placed in a discipline-specific journal (pure psychology, pure economics) without a management framing.
